Unfortunately, I am not as consistent at posting as I would like to be (once every six months is not enough!) because I have way to much in my real life that slows me down. Although I am a prolific reader of Warhammer stuff (blogs, GW News, Forums, books, etc) my own progress on the hobby front is somewhat slow. Besides real life, I blame my sluggishness on multiple things:
1) I really like spending time with my new wife and that is not always done most easily when sequestering myself away in the man-cave hunched over little plastic men. She doesn't mind when I do it, but I like being able to spend more quality time with her.
2) I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my painting, and I also like painting different things. I'm not the best at painting multiple models at the same time, but I really enjoy painting a test figure and learning what colors look good where.
3) I am not very disciplined when it comes to painting. Lets be honest, sometimes painting is hard and tedious... not so with my favorite T.V. show or just taking a nap. Most of the time I am just not disciplined enough to get my work done and instead choose the easier options.
4) Warhammer at my local gaming store has pretty much died. We used to have quite a few people that would show up on a regular basis but not so much anymore. Unfortunately I have tried to revive it multiple times, but I just don't have the energy or time to put into it which also means that I don't have the motivation to work hard on hobby projects.
All in all, I still love Warhammer dearly and spend inordinate amounts of time and money on it. However, I really need to get back in the swing of painting and converting, and also need to figure out what I need to do to motivate myself to get a fully painted army done! Any ideas?
