Well, it has been a really long time since I have been on here or since I have played warhammer. I recently finished a two-year stint in Portland, Oregon as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which meant I didn't have much time to play warhammer and no access to this blog. Since getting back two months ago I have jumped right back into the hobby and it has been interesting!
A lot of things have changed in the past two years. First of all, 5th edition is WAY different than 4th edition. Perhaps the biggest thing that changed for me is that Skimmers REALLY suck in my opinion. They lost the auto-glance of 4th edition and now have to move flat out to get a cover save which means they can't shoot any weapons... sort of makes me not want to take any tanks but since everyone else is doing it I guess I need to as well.
Second thing I've noticed, space marines are played WAY more than they were when I left with the advent of three new dexes for them and they are WAY more powerful than before. I understand it all and I know there are ways to beat them and everything, but man it's sometimes really annoying going up against an army that has pretty much no weaknesses and really has a special rule or unit to fill every need. Anyway, enough of my rant.
I am glad to be back in the hobby and my current goal is to have a 2,500 pt list completed and painted by the third week in february for a local Rogue Trader that will kill all the bloody space marine players and make them think twice about playing such broken lists! That's the hope... now lets see if it will last in the interim months in which I actually have to complete said task! Anyway, until my next post (which will probably be rather quickly) happy gaming and make sure to have fun!
